Epilepsy Awareness Walk & Seminar

In Pakistan, above 1% population is suffering ,out of 185 million, from epilepsy. Its prevalence is higher in far flange / rural areas versus urban population. Majority are of age group 1-25 years and common in females versus men.

Today we had conducted an epilepsy awareness walk in Phoolnagar (Rural area ) to create awareness, also distributed epilepsy awareness brochures in mass, engaged print and TV media. After walk, an diseases awareness speech was delivered by prof. ashraf mehmood (services hospital) to establish its need to treat the disease epilepsy rather to hide / delay in treatment due to social stigma.
