I Would like to update you on all the great activities we have planned for “Purple Day.” We are so fortunate this year to have the City of Orlando partner with our association to color the city purple. A long time landmark the Lake Eola fountain will be lit purple, along with the lights at the Amway Center (home of the Orlando Magic Basketball and the Orlando Solar Bears hockey teams), the City of Orlando sign at the newly renovated Citrus Bowl, and the Tower of Light in front of City Hall. In addition, the Florida Hospital ICON and the top of the garage at the new Women’s hospital will glow purple on behalf of epilepsy awareness.
We will kick off the week with Orlando Solar Bears Hockey game Sunday, March 20th when we “Purple Out” the Amway Center. Florida Hospital is providing purple tee shirts and the Solar Bears host a pregame party with some of the players and staff and have a special gift for attendees who register for tickets through our website at epilepsyassociation.com/solarbears.
Our annual Orlando Epilepsy Walk will be held Saturday, April 9th at Cypress Grove Park and anyone interested can go to the walk website at orlandoepilepsywalk.com to register or for more information.
