Tammy Sommer, McKinley’s Mom!

Denmark Purple Cupcake Sale! I come from a small village outside of Green Bay.  When my daughter was diagnosed at age 4, I didn’t know what to do for her, where to turn, how to educate…but I knew I had to do something.  I came upon Deb at the foundation and she was very helpful with material and ideas.  I knew I had to educate our village and surrounding area…I worried McKinley would have a seizure and I wouldn’t be there, who would and would they know what to do.  I set out to educate, the cupcake sale was the perfect avenue for me.  We got media coverage and people showed up to bake and buy.  Each pack of cupcakes comes with an explanation of seizures, what they can look like and what to do.  We’ve been on several local TV programs and in the newspaper.  We know it has helped, because we’ve met some great families and now we have each other to support during the little heartbreaks this disorder can create.  It is so great to be able to talk to other Moms and they get it.
