My name is Liz, I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 16. My first seizure happened at 13 when I was in middle school but no one was really sure what happened and it took until I was 16 years old for a neurologist to diagnose me with general epilepsy. I get both acute and grand mail seizure which has been a continuous struggle in my life. I ran into learning obstacles through high school and really struggled with depression/anxiety. But with the support of family and friends I have worked hard to find medications and coping mechanisms to help me with both my seizures and mental health. I would love to help any others struggling with epilepsy in my local area or worldwide. Please feel to reach out to me. I understand more than anyone the social, mental, and physical tolls epilepsy takes on one’s life. But I promise there is hope!
