I am a Mental health professional here in Ghana. I see a lot of cases of epilepsy. Because of it’s associated emotional and psychological issues I see to their care in my district. In my annual report for 2017, epileptic seizures recorded 77 percent of all the diagnosis I made. Treatment is a problem in this part of the country because of poverty. People can’t pay to treat especially when you need a combined cocktail of anticonvulsants. I organize durbars to speak to them concerning Epilepsy and care. If I get resources I and my team can do a lot to create awareness, advocacy and treatment.
