What is Purple Day?

Purple Day® began in 2008 by then nine-year old Canadian Cassidy Megan. Today, Purple Day® is celebrated in more than 80 countries, with thousands of epilepsy awareness events taking place in schools, hospitals, malls, businesses and local communities. Governors, mayors, state legislatures and city councils have issued Purple Day® Proclamations in support of epilepsy awareness.

This contest is supported by a grant to increase public awareness of epilepsy from the Anita Kaufmann Foundation. We are excited to use these funds in support of Epilepsy Awareness/Purple Day® activities.
