December’s Note

Recently Laura was able to pick a special stuffed animal which was donated to kids who have Epilepsy. She was so excited and grateful. It was just one more way to show she is not alone. I was so impressed with her sister, Emma. She didn’t pick an animal, and she understood why. As her Mom, I knew she was disappointed, and so did her sister. Laura wanted to buy Emma her own special animal. She gave her a bear with a purple shirt (of course) which said, “Best friend forever.” There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. It’s hard to find a balance as a parent, but this showed me it doesn’t take much. Grand gestures are not needed to be sure everyone feels important. It means so much to have support from others, and each other!!!! ~ Jill
